We've finished an MOU for the COSWAP (Colorado Strategic Wildfire Adaptation Plan) grant. This is a cross-boundary project with the USFS, City of Longmont, and Left Hand Watershed Center. The project is near Button Rock Preserve in Longmont. A site visit will be scheduled for the BOCC and POSAC.
BCPOS is doing a biochar experiment by burning slash to convert it to charcoal to find a better use for the slash. This will include slash from the Gross Reservoir expansion. This will be funded by the Office of Sustainability. We will try converting the slash at the BCPOS sort yards.
The annual POSAC Retreat will be on Saturday, Feb. 4
Rob Alexander is retiring after 28 years with Boulder County Parks & Open Space. Rob's retirement party will be at the Pumphouse in Longmont on Jan. 31
