Christal Markevich, 5570 Magnolia Dr., Nederland. She spoke against the use of chemicals to control weeds on open space. She has started a petition to protest the activity.

Tony Lewis spoke about the recent Agricultural Tenant Appreciation dinner he attended and the challenges around the around farming locally. He recommended providing more housing for workers on agricultural properties.

Therese Glowacki responded to Tony's suggestion saying that the new policy is to keep dwellings on open space, rather than automatically disposing of them. Land Use codes are starting to allow accessory dwellings on some of our properties, they can be used as housing. Janis Whisman added that the county has kept about three dozen dwellings. Discussions are ongoing about whether those dwellings should be only for housing for our agricultural tenants.

Trace Baker asked if mobile homes can be accessory dwellings. Janis Whisman doesn't think mobile homes are allowed under the Land Use code.

Paula Fitzgerald agreed that housing is very important to farming and she encouraged staff to further that goal.

Acquisition of approximately 201 acres of forested land, including a stone cabin, located at 21956 St. Vrain Dr., Allenspark.

The Canyon Creek acquisition is an example of our new naming policy of not always giving a property the name of the previous owner but instead for characteristics of the property.

The Twin Lakes project on the west lake will stabilize the lake, which has been severely eroded over the years.

The Niwot Trails bridge is being undermined. Staff will close the bridge for safety reasons and to work on the bridge.

A new Senior Forester has been hired. Michael Agena will start next week.

The East Boulder Creek online survey has already received over 800 responses.

The passage of 1-A has resulted in two new positions at BCPOS. One is an additional technician position at the community sort yards and the other is a cross-boundary forestry planner.

The Agricultural Tenant Appreciation dinner was in February and it was an enjoyable and informative evening.
