Steven Meyrich reported that he has seen the Red Hill elk herd near his neighborhood near 63rd Street and Lagerman Reservoir. He estimates 30-40 head. 

Paula Fitzgerald reported that she drafted a letter that was mailed to the Department of Commerce regarding the Red Hill elk herd.

Acquisition of a conservation easement over approximately 318 acres of land located on the westerly side of the intersection of Peak to Peak Highway and County Road 96.

Wendy Sweet, BMA, 8600 Dartmouth, Boulder. She wanted more information about the value and future use of the property.

Linda Andes Georges, 8417 Stirrup Lane, Longmont. She has concerns about recreational use on the property.

    Steven Meyrich made a friendly amendment that the original motion to add a first right of refusal to the Conservation Easement for Boulder County.

    Tony Lewis made a friendly amendment to require cultural and archeological surveys as part of the agreement.

    Trace Baker seconded the amendments.

    Trace Baker made a friendly amendment to add language to section 3F to include threats to natural resources, cultural resources, and human life. Tony Lewis seconded.

    Paula Fitzgerald made a friendly amendment to change language in 2B from "fire" to "natural disasters". Steven Meyrich seconded.

  • We reopened the Marshall-area trails last week, a week ahead of schedule. It was a coordinated effort with the Town of Superior and City of Boulder.
  • We are working with BMA on other fence repairs in the Marshall area so more trails can reopen.
  • The milk barn construction project at Braly has been completed.
  • The Walden Ponds boardwalk is being repaired.
  • We are working to reopen Heil late spring.
  • The 5-year Visitor Study is complete and it will be presented to POSAC in March.
  • PD management plan update was approved by the Boulder County Board of Commissioners, after recommendation by POSAC.
  • The Elk and Vegetation plan was approved the Boulder County Board of Commissioners, after recommendation by POSAC.
